Path of exile

Reason I'm writing about this is since I got my first PC I have been a huge Diablo fan but after the community totally died in D2 I begun looking for something similar but couldn't find anything until 2012 when I found Path of Exile and joined the closed Beta and was very happy what they had created. Since then I have been playing in almost every new league they release and the game just keeps getting better.

Some of you might be unfamiliar with Path of Exile so here is something for you. Path of exile is an online hack and slash rpg developed and published by Grinding Gear Games. Its totally free to play with ethical micro-transactions, meaning even if you are broke or don't want to pay you can still enjoy the full game without missing anything. Path of exile's micro-transactions offer cosmetic item skins, extra stash tabs and additional character slots.

You control your character from an over head perspective and explore the continent of Wraeclast, which serves as a penal colony for criminals and other unwanted individuals who are exiled from Oriath. You battle  through sandy shores, underground caves, jungles and many dozens of other places gaining experience points and fulfilling quests. The story is actually pretty good if you follow it carefully and the dialogues are well written.

Gameplay

You can choose from 7 classes to play as, Marauder, Templar, Witch, Shadow, Duelist, Ranger and Scion. The class you choose effects where you start from the passive skill tree and what are your core attributes: Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence. All classes share the same selection of 1,325 passive skills. Each class have their own unique ascendancy skill tree as well. You can choose to play Standard or Hardcore which I always play. Unlike in other games when you die in hardcore you are transferred to  standard and you can still play with your character.

The power of your character is mostly based on how good your gear is and how well you placed your points in the passive skill tree.

Items you find come in different rarities and different number of sockets depending on the item level.

Sockets in items are for active skill gems which will be your main way of attacking or buffing your character in various ways. If I'm not totally wrong there are around 159 active skill gems in the game. There are also 89 support skill gems which will buff your active skill gems in different ways.

Active and support Skill gems are attribute based and have different colors: red,(Strength) Green,(Dexterity) and Intelligence,(blue). Sockets also come with the same attribute colors and only same color gems fits in the same color socket.

Active and support skill gems also have levels from 1-20, gems gain experience while they are equipped in your items and you are slaying monsters. gems can also have quality up to 20% which buffs the skill even more.

The game now has 4 acts and huge amount of end game maps that you can playthrough. There are 3 difficult settings Normal, Cruel, and Merciless. Every time when you beat the game you get to higher difficulty.

Grinding Gear Games are making a new expansion that would add 6 more new acts to the game and one playthrough. No more Cruel and Merciless = less grinding the same places over and over again.

The game is also going to be released on Xbox one later this year.

Its pretty amazing how they mange to keep this game free to play and still add more content all the time.

Good job Grinding Gear Games!!

Go check the game out here. Its also in Steam.

Outlast 2 is out now & spoilers.

Outlast 2 is out now in Steam and GOG.com for 29,99$. To GOG.com click here. Steam click here.

Outlast 2 contains intense violence, gore, graphic sexual content, and strong language. Enjoy.

Lynn Langermann is an investigative journalist seeking the answers behind a pregnant woman murdered under impossible circumstances in rural Arizona. You play as Blake Langermann, her husband, assistant, and cameraman.

Before they can even record an intro for the segment, the helicopter crashes and you get separated from your wife. You begin searching her from near village but soon realize the area is full of some seriously freaky cult followers.

The atmosphere and sound design are excellent. When the creepy music starts its just amazing and the game is seriously terrifying. Every aspect of the game is going to keep you on the edge of your seat. The game is obviously dark but looks very beautiful in dim and fully lit areas.

Same as in the previous game you are not a fighter, you can only run and hide. You have your camcorder with you with a night vision mode but now you also have a microphone that allows you to hear through walls and track sounds. If you point at the freaks you can hear what they are mumbling about, also you can hide in more different places than in the previous game. Environment is much more open in some areas and you can get lost pretty easily. The game also keeps you much more on edge with the open environment and you are most likely going to die multiple times in the game.
Notes that you can find throughout the game are very well written and interesting read.

There are three factions of foes in the game. The Christian cult that feels more like a Satanism because of their blood sacrifices. Heretics, they are different cult that opposes the Christians and live in the mines. Then there are the sculled, outcasts living in the woods.

The location changes in the game are done well and you have a good reason to move forward, to pursue your wife.
The game sometimes suddenly throws you to your old catholic school. These are very well made segments that makes the game even more interesting. You also get to learn what happened in your childhood.

The ending in the game is pretty weird and questions you probably have aren't answered.

There are some seriously heart stopping jump scares in the game. If you are looking for some horror thrills this game is definitely for you and its only  29,99$.

I highly recommend this game.

Getting ready for Outlast 2.

Outlast 2 release is just days away and I'm so excited that I can't wait so I get my head ready for outlast 2 by playing both the Outlast and Whistleblower DLC again. Its been more than a few years since I played both of them.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, outlast is a stealth horror game made just to make the player suffer. You are a reporter who gets a tip from an anonymous informant that something odd is going on at a mountain asylum. Obviously you are going there to investigate, because who wouldn't. When you arrive there you soon realize your worst nightmare and slow descent into hell is about to begin. You try to leave but you can't so the only way is to go deeper in the dark creepy  asylum with your camcorder that can be switched to night-vision mode so you can see in the dark and witness all the horror much better.  Your camcorder is going to run out of juice pretty fast during your horror journey so you need to keep your eyes open for some spare batteries. You don't want your camcorder to run out of batteries in a pitch black areas.

You are being stalked by nightmarish creatures which means you have to move like a quiet rat creeping, peeking corners and avoiding them. If you get seen, only thing you can do is run away and try to find a place to hide. The scary thing is once you find a hiding spot it doesn't necessarily mean you are safe. The most frightening monsters are those that you can't kill but have to flee from and it creates an outstandingly creepy atmosphere to this game.

If by some chance you haven't played Outlast i highly recommend it.

I know that outlast II is based on some real event of 1978 Jonestown Massacre, an unusual set of events led to the deaths of 913 people.

 Outlast 2 Trailer

Enjoy

New Call of duty Confirmed for 2017

I heard some rumors that the next Call of duty would set in WWII and it seems now the rumors were true. Activision has provided a first look at art for the game, which you can see above.

Activision announced the WWII themed game today and the game is developed by Sledgehammer Games, the Activision owned studio. Sledgehammer Games is one of three developers working on Call of Duty games in rotation.

Its great to see Call of Duty going back to its roots with a WWII setting and see what kind of new ideas they manage to implement in to the game.

There is no Official release date but some rumors say it will be out November 3.

A full reveal livestream is scheduled for next Wednesday, April 26.

No Prey PC demo & Spoilers

Prey is an upcoming first-person action-adventure video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda.

Bethesda are releasing a demo April 27th for PS4 and Xbox One but there is not going to be a PC demo for Prey. This is a big problem since you can't test how it runs on your PC which is most definitely going to effect in PC pre-orders and sales of the game. The game is going to release May 5th.

So why there is not going to be a PC demo? One of the reasons could be that Bethesda will use Denuvo in Prey and doesn't want to give cracker groups a head start.
Also Arkane’s previous game Dishonored 2, had big performance issues on PC but Co-creative director Rafael Colantonio says in an interview that Prey will be "really flawless when we ship" on PC, thanks to lessons learned from their last title, plus more QA time and a different, better-understood engine.

SPOILERS

You play as Morgan Yu, you awaken aboard the Talos I in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force known as Typhon that has taken over space station.

The player will be able to select certain attributes of Yu, including gender, and decision made by the player will affect elements of the game's story.

Weapons

What I gathered so far about Prey, you are not going to be armed to the teeth with weapons since Talos I is a corporate research facility in outer space. The weapons you might come a cross are powerful close-quarter S4 Tactical Pump Shotgun. PPN silenced pistol, Disruptor Stun Gun, a non-lethal option. Industrial Wrench because every game needs a melee weapon. GLOO Cannon, which fires a stream of quick-hardening foam. The gun can also be used to create platforms to climb up walls. Q-Beam, the weapon supercharges an enemy with unstable energy, and can trigger an explosive chain reaction on multiple Typhon in close proximity.

There are at least 10 foes in the game that i know of, Weaver, Typhon, Phantom, Poltergeist, Technopath, Telepath, Cystoid, Mimic, Nightmare and Operators.

Gadgets

Recycler Charge,  like a black hole granade that grabs everything in and spits everything out in pieces, if you are not careful it can grab you as well if you are too close.

The Typhon Lure, Lure's psycholuminescent light attracts Typhon and Mimics, drawing them together and away from you.

Gear

The TranScribe lets you communicate with others aboard Talos I, look over notes and keep a tab on your inventory. It’s also how you manage your abilities both human and Typhon.

Artax Propulsion System allows you to navigate through zero-G environments both within and outside of the space station and perform jump-gliding maneuvers in normal gravity areas.

Psychoscope is the key to unlocking alien abilities. You can only learn alien abilities by scanning them while they are still alive which could be difficult. You can also stay full-human and not install any alien powers. Scanning Typhon reveals some interesting backstory and some Typhon vulnerabilities

Abilities

Can't be sure if these are 100% correct or even in the game.

Kinetic Blast: can be used in combat to push away anything within range while dealing a chunk of damage. Morgan can also use the ability to rocket into the air and reach elevated overhangs

Leverage: lets Morgan to pick up heavy objects in the environment to clear a path or weaponize the object by tossing it at a foe.

Lift Field: allows you to create a reverse gravity field that sends objects and enemies skyward.

Machine Mind: allows Morgan to gain control of Operators and turrets.

Mimic Matter: lets Morgan Yu turn into everyday objects, like a cup or a dumpster. While in this form, Morgan can move around the environment, solve puzzles and even use other abilities.

Phantom Genesis: allows Morgan to turn human corpses into Phantoms to fight by their side.

Mindjack: lets you telepathically assume control over another human or a Typhon creature.

Psychoshock: lets Morgan to create a powerful ball of psionic energy to physically hurt biological targets. It also temporarily disables the target's ability to use psi powers.

Remote Manipulation: lets Morgan Yu retrieve or interact with distant objects by using his or her mind. If used in conjunction with Leverage, he or she can remotely pick up or even throw fridge-sized objects across the room. If used in conjunction with Repair, broken machines can be fixed from a distance.

Superthermal: creates a fiery proximity trap, which when triggered, creates a column of super-heated plasma dealing lots of damage to whoever triggered it.

Prey seems very promising.

Source 2 for CS:GO

CS:GO will be getting the Source 2 treatment this summer but there is no official release date yet. Source 2 uses a physics engine known as Rubikon, this change could have some impact to the gameplay and the general feel of CS:Go could change a bit, like player movement and grenades behaving differently when being thrown. With this engine change, CS:GO should receive visual and performance upgrades as it moves away from the old 32-bit Source engine to new 64-bit one and gives the ability to greatly improve visual effects in the future. Source 2 will also have a higher minimum system requirements.

Best Far Cry game so far.

Reason for me writing this is because I bought Far cry primal few days ago and its so BOOORING.

In Far Cry 3 you play as Jason Brody, Silver spoon youngster who's skydiving trip with his friends goes bad. They land on pirate infested island, get captured to be ransomed and sold into slavery by Vaas. Vaas is sadist leader of a band of pirates. Jason barely manages to escapes and finds himself in the company of unexpected allies as he tries to find his friends and get off the island.

Far Cry 3 is an open world FPS with RPG elements set on a tropical island between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. A place where armed pirates traffic in slaves and outsiders are hunted for ransom.

Explore the huge island that offers wildlife, white sandy beaches, lush jungles, open grasslands and mountains. Customize your weapons, your skills and approach each mission in your own style, whether you like run and gun, stealth or sniping.
There are three skill trees, stealth takedowns and hunting skills, long-range takedowns and mobility skills and assault takedowns and health skills.
You can craft gun holsters, bigger wallets and bigger rucksacks to increase carrying capabilities of items, weapons, cash and ammunation.

The island is huge and can suck you in for hours just by taking outposts, roaming the map, doing side quests and chasing wildlife before going back again to the main story. There is so much to do, the main story is about 15 hours long but if you add all the exploring and side quests you are looking easily 30 hours of gameplay.

The reason why i chose Far cry 3 and not Far cry 4 is because Far Cry 4 feels like a copy of Far Cry 3 with a duller story and very few new ideas. Far Cry 3 Story is well made, characters are well thought out. You will get to know them and remember them. The main selling point is how much effort they made for the villain Vaas, he truly is psychotic sadist and his voice acting is perfect. He gives amazing depth to the game. Also you get to see how Jason must embrace the darkness and violence of the island to save his friends. The game also has two different endings and both are well done.

If by some chance you haven't played this game yet, you should give it a go.

Endless space

Hello everyone

Yesterday in steam people were interested in a game called Endless space which is 4X, turn-based, space, strategy game and why the game is -96% off. Of course I bought the game immediately since I had some ideas what the game is like but I read  many people having doubts about the game because of the cheap price even with almost 5000 reviews and very positive rating in steam.

The reason why the game is so cheap now is because endless space 2 is coming out of early access in May 19th so what better way to get publicity to the game franchise than making the first installment cost 1$ including the DLC.

If you are new or a veteran to  4X, turn-based, space games you should definitely give this game a go.

1$ guys. Go check it out. If you like the game check endless space 2 as well since you get it cheaper now than when it comes out of early access.

Happy gaming to everyone.

The best PC game of 2017 so far.

The reason i chose Resident Evil 7 for now is because they did not disappoint me. I'm honestly amazed at how good this game is. The level of change they made from the recent RE titles is absolutely massive.

Resident Evil 7 moves away from the action packed game play and returns to its original roots, survival horror with a new creepier, first-person horror elements.

The main character in this game is Ethan Winters, we follow his story as he receives an e-mail from his presumed dead wife Mia after not hearing from her for three years. In the e-mail her wife is asking him to come find her at the Baker ranch in Dulvey, Louisiana. Ethan jumps in his car and heads to Baker ranch, once he arrives to the scene you know something is not right. When you find your wife she has no idea why you are there or why you came. After a while you realize your wife is not who she used to be. The house and the psychotic Baker family gives you the vibe of Texas chainsaw massacre and you get to know them up close and personal. Each confrontation with the Baker family is extremely brutal. The new first-person view makes you feel like you're actually there, experiencing the horror first hand.

The game handles the location changes very well, each location has a very unique and detailed art to it. Boss fights are brutal, tough and you could find yourself getting repeatedly pummelled into submission if you can't figure out what you have to do.

Resident evil 7 uses new RE engine and looks spectacular, the environments are photorealisitc at times, the textures are good and the general level of detail is stunning which enhance the immersiveness, atmosphere and horror experience.

Sound, music and voice acting are absolutely top-notch, they are so good that when you are playing the game with headphones you would believe the creepy sounds are coming from your own house and you have to go check that you locked your door and windows.

The game has wide range of weapons, all weapons have different feel to them and the weapon detail is good. The weapons feel great and head shots, in particular, are both extremely satisfying and necessary to take out enemies without wasting away tons of bullets.
In this game you get to play inventory tetris but not so much compared to the classic RE. Gun play and controls with keyboard and mouse are good.

You don't need to be invested in the 20 years of backstory that exists to jump into this game.

This game is one of the most brutal and genuinely terrifying game out there. The most atmospheric Resident evil title for a long time.

Nice job Capcom.

7 days to die where is my alpha 16?

Hello everyone. The reason i'm writing about 7 days to die is that it should receive alpha 16 update any day now.

People who are not familiar with the game. 7 days to die is an open-world FPS, base building, survival, horror, RPG that is beyond others in the genre. You play in unforgiving post-apocalyptic world where you need to survive by looting buildings, corpses, trash piles, mine, farm, hunt, fight the undead and build your ultimate fortress.

During the day time the undead are slow and not very difficult to deal with so its good time to bash their heads in and loot them. During the nights and every 7 days all hell breaks loose and you have to pray you reinforced your base and laid enough traps because the undead goes berserk and can teardown your base with ease. Screamers a special undead can call hordes to your location and spider zombies can scale most walls so you are never safe. Building good defences around your base are the key to your survival.

Building

There are no other survival zombie games that does building quite like 7 days to die. The way the building is done is amazing, the world is fully destructible and moldable so you can build anything you want anywhere you like of course keeping in mind building integrity. All of the different building blocks have different shapes that you can combine each other and upgrade to make your unique supreme fortress.

You can also enable creative mode which lets you take any blocks or items out of the creative menu you want so you can try out your building ideas.

Skills

Building, crafting and bashing the undead will earn you experience and level your character which will reward you with points you can spend on number of different skills like firearms, weapons, tools/traps, clothing, scavenging/trading, health/fitness and crafting.

Crafting

You can craft all the items in the game that you can find by looting, some items require you to read recipe books to learn how to craft them but you have to find those books. Each item requires set of resources before you can craft them

wellness

The higher your wellness is the bigger your health pool is, for that you have to make different beverages, eat well and stay alive.

Weather

Weather plays a part in this game as well, staying too long under the sun will lead you to suffer from heat stroke and unchecked is fatal.
If you find yourself in the snow biome, staying too long in the cold will lead you to suffer from hypothermia and can be fatal.
All of these effects have different stages begin from mild to high negative effects to your character.

Go try out this awesome game.

The only con in the game is that the graphics are bit outdated even with ultra settings and the game goes sometimes from 90 fps to 40 fps  and suffers from lag spikes.

Bayonetta Is Finally Available For PC

Bayonetta just got a surprise PC port and futures keyboard and mouse support (but recommend using controller), Japanese and English voice overs, unlocked resolutions up to 4k and tweakable graphics settings. Gameplay runs at 60fps while cutscenes run at 30fps.

Bayonetta is a third-person fast action hack & slash game with spectacular combos and torture attacks but what makes the game truly amazing are the epic boss fights. The game shares similar aspects with Devil may cry since both games share the same director Hideki Kamiya.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat & mod Call of Chernobyl

For people who are not familiar with S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a FPS that combines elements of survival horror, ammo scavenging, looting, frightening atmosphere with powerful monsters. This title Call of Pripyat is the third installment of the series and continues from shadow of Chernobyl, the first game. Now don't worry if you haven't played the first game its not necessary. S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat is pretty old but gold and the reason i bring it up now is because a mod called call of chernobyl got its full release and won the best mod award in 2016. More about this later.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat story takes place vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986. You take control of agent Major disguised as a stalker named Alex Degtyarev heading to the radioactive wasteland referred as 'the zone' to investigate a series of crashed military helicopters that went down shortly after the events in shadow of  Chernobyl.
Your stalker cover lets you line yourself with different factions as you fight other factions, mutants and avoid anomalies in a search for answers.

There is no leveling so the power of your character is determined by the equipment you're carrying around. When you start out, you're going to be very weak to the dangers present in the Zone. You'll also be flat out broke. Talking to NPCs, taking on quests and trading artifacts for money are your best options for upgrades.

The game offers a great feel of realism to survival. That means your armors are going break down and weapons are going to wear out. Guns you've ignored will deteriorate and start to jam and there's no point in using them anymore. You need to keep your eye on your armor and weapons so you can fix them.  Your weapons are not 100% accurate which gives the game great depth and difficulty. There are arsenal of weapons to find and all unique on their own way.
All locations in the game are recreated by their true to life prototypes based on photographs.

Sound quality and design is really immersive and scary when you are alone in the zone at nighttime, you can hear the whole environment and its creepy as hell. I recommend using headphones.

With out any mods You can probably beat the game in under 15 hours but that's sticking to the main story and not venturing out much. I personally spent over 30 hours because i compleated all the side quests and wandered around the zone.

Now about the mod. This mod is stand alone but for legal reasons you need to own S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat.
